"The sum is greater than the parts." That's what happened when Residex and Turfgrass came together in 2010 to form Residex, LLC. Residex was started in 1946 and had a long history of providing PMPs with the products, service and support they needed to start, maintain and grow their businesses. Turfgrass, Inc. had been an important industry partner in the Midwest since 1970 providing product solutions to golf courses superintendents, lawn care operators and athletic field managers. Today the distribution of the two companies has combined and grown to cover the eastern half of the U.S. Residex, LLC has 25 locations in 18 states from Michigan to Florida and Indiana to Virginia. The mission and commitment of the combined company embraces the strongest aspects of the parent companies and incorporate forward-thinking goals in order that we might continue to provide the best customer experience, every time.
Residex Corporation was founded in 1946 by J.E. Sameth, who was also the founder of Western Termite and Pest Control of Parsippany, NJ. Since its inception, Residex has been focused on the success of its customers, providing up-to-date product, technical, sales, and business solutions to PMPs every step of the way. This customer-focused philosophy led to expansion and growth up and down the east coast and into Florida. In 2004, a team of Residex employees led by Chris Donaghy, then GM of Residex, developed and executed a plan to separate the distribution arm of the company from the professional pest services division thereby preserving Residex as a valuable distributor in the PMP industry.
In 1970, Gene Johanningsmeier started Turfgrass, Inc. to supply quality products and service to the golf, lawn care, parks, and professional athletic turf markets in Michigan. Over the years, Turfgrass, Inc. built a solid reputation by carrying proven products and actively pursuing innovative technologies in order to provide the best solutions at a fair price. This model was duplicated across the Midwest with additional sales personnel and warehouse locations. From the beginning, Turfgrass, Inc. has employed a team of highly experienced, agronomically trained sales staff to help diagnose pest and cultural challenges and identify customized solutions for their customers.
